For your convenience we have added a new recycling bin to the Depot. The bin is specifically designed for the recycling of computers and electronics (C&E).
Although C&E comprises about 1% of the total waste stream, it is of particular concern due to its hazardous and toxic materials content. Lead, mercury, cadmium, and chromium are some of the potentially hazardous materials common in electronics.

ATTENTION RESIDENTS:
The EWSWA in conjunction with CAW Local 200 has launched an electronics recycling and reuse venture to assist with the COMPUTERS FOR KIDS program. If you have any electronic devises you can either bring them to the Public Drop Off Depot or to the CAW's refurbishing facility at 4150 Sandwich Street, Windsor Ontario N9C 1C5. For more information call (519) 253-KIDS. Businesses should contact the CAW Local 200 directly at (519) 253-5437. Any computer hardware will be refurbished and used in the COMPUTERS FOR KIDS program.
Items to Drop Off: personal computers, printers, scanners, modems, telephones, fax machines, photocopiers, radios, stereos, etc. Any items that cannot be used will be recycled. Thank you for your support in this most worthwhile community venture.
There are some organizations/businesses which take either used office-type cartridges for printers and also some which take computers for refurbishing and redistribution.
