Businesses & Landfill

The Essex-Windsor Regional Landfill is owned and operated by the EWSWA and was officially opened on July 2nd, 1997. The Landfill Site is licensed by the Ontario Ministry of Environment, Conservation and Parks (MECP) under the Environmental Compliance Approval (ECA) No. A011101 (April 3, 2017).

The Essex-Windsor Regional Landfill accepts waste from all generators of non-hazardous solid waste from the City of Windsor and the County of Essex municipalities.

The disposal of nonhazardous solid waste is restricted to vehicles with a gross vehicle weight of 3,000 kg (or more). Vehicles under the restricted weight of 3000 kg are welcome to visit the other EWSWA Depots.

Businesses

Businesses (larger haulers) are welcome to set an account to drop off waste at the Regional Landfill. Smaller businesses can access the Public Drop Off (Windsor) or Transfer Station #2 as commercial customers.
