Green Bin Delivery Starts July 21st!

The Essex-Windsor Region (Region) is growing green with Green Bins starting July 21, 2025!  Single-family homes in Phase 1 (Essex, Lakeshore, LaSalle, Tecumseh and Windsor) that are included in the 2025 Green Bin Program will get a Green Bin Kit delivered to their home. In order to distribute to almost 120,000 homes in the Region, delivery will start the week of July 21st in Windsor Zone 4A and will continue across the region through to early October. This EWSWA Green Bin will help residents to keep valuable resources such as food waste out of their garbage with this new, residential Green Bin collection program. 

The Green Bin Kit that is being delivered contains:

• 120L EWSWA Green Bin (made in Canada);
• 7L Kitchen Catcher (made in Canada);
• “How-To” Guide; and a
• Glad sample compostable bag and coupon. 

If residents are interested to know when delivery to their municipality or zone is scheduled, they can visit www.ewswa.org where it will be updated regularly. Residents can also download the Recycle Coach App and request notifications for the Green Bin Program. With this app, they can request notification on when Green Bins will be delivered in their municipality or zone. It can also provide the date that their new, weekly collection program begins in October. 

Residents are asked to please be patient for their delivery, as this Region grows green with Green Bins in the coming months!
