Non-Eligible Sources
The Registration Form is located at the bottom of the page, please read all information carefully and scroll down.
Due to provincially mandated recycling changes (Ontario Regulation 391/21), the residential recycling program will no longer be administered by the EWSWA. Producers of Blue/Red Box materials will take over residential recycling collection on August 28, 2024, and are not obligated to collect recycling from a "Non-Eligible Source".
NOTE: Elementary & high schools, apartments and condos are not considered NES and are not required to register.
Non-Eligible Source (NES) Definition:
A Non-Eligible Source (NES) is an industrial or commercial property, not-for-profit organization, community building or facility (e.g., library, arenas), daycare, post-secondary institution (colleges, universities, etc.), place of worship, mixed-use property (residential apartment combined with business, etc.), campground and trailer park without permanent or seasonal households, or a commercial farm that is currently receiving blue box recycling collection services from the EWSWA.
If your business / organization falls under the "Non-Eligible Source" definition and currently receives weekly or bi-weekly municipal recycling collection - you must complete the Non-Eligible Source Registration Form by May 24th, 2024 or your recycling collection will be cancelled - as of August 28, 2024.

Evaluation
Before you complete the Non-Eligible Source Registration Form, you must first determine if your organization/business falls under the Non-Eligible Source definition (above).
Question 1:
Are you a Non-Eligible Source? (refer to definition above)
Yes / No / Unsure
- If your answer is ‘Yes’, you must complete the Non-Eligible Source Registration Form below to continue to receive collection after August 27, 2024.
- If your answer is ‘No’, you are not considered a Non-Eligible Source. Do not complete the Non-Eligible Source Registration Form. You are considered an eligible source, and your current recycling service is maintained.
- If you are ‘Unsure’, please continue to Question 2.
Question 2:
Does your business / organization pay or receive invoices for recycling services from another company?
Yes / No / Unsure
- If your answer is ‘Yes’, do not complete the Non-Eligible Source Registration Form, therefore, you are not part of the EWSWA recycling program and are paying a private contractor for your red/blue box recycling services.
- If your answer is ‘No’, complete the Non-Eligible Source Registration Form.
- If you are ‘Unsure’, complete the Non-Eligible Source Registration Form.
